Good news Angie.... You're gonna do fine...keep the confidence... There will be easier days and tougher days, depending on the terrain and your mood...Most important thing to remember is always plan to make sure you have plenty of water ..When unsure of the water situation ahead camel up on all the water you can hold (in your stomach) whenever you're at a water source and refill your containers... I knew that from past experience but on my last hike about 6 weeks ago I neglected that and ran short of water, got really badly dehydrated and thought my head would split and my throat even hurt..OK..My advice for today..good night..

Angie, don't know when you'll see this. Don't know if you've saw on whiteblaze in March I think it was just North of Neel's gap at a camping area there lots of hikers are having their food bags stolen by a Moma bear and her cubs. They say there is a bear den very close to that area. The bear is supposedly stealing food that was hung. If hung properly I really don't see how the bear is getting it. But you may want to consider trying to schedule your days not to camp near there. The bear won't bother you if you don't go beaten up her cubs or Swayze barks at em and scares em to death (the cubs) But she will steal your food if she can. She's already proven that. And I still don't recommend sleeping with your food in your tent like Lone Wolf and others say. It's true that a bear most likely will not break into an occupied but a mouse will chew holes in it anyway. Just thought I'd fill you in on that info.
